Together, We Care for South County
South County Community Services exists to meet the evolving needs of our neighbors across Southern Santa Clara County. From emergency food and housing support to vital resources for seniors, families, and unhoused individuals—we’re here to help, and we’re here because of you.
Whether you’re seeking support or looking to give back, this is your community. And together, we’re building a South County where everyone has a path forward.

St. Joseph’s Family Center and South County Compassion Center are partnering in a joint vision to alleviate community poverty, diminish food and housing insecurity, strengthen the safety net for the most vulnerable, and provide essential support to the unhoused population. Our goal is to offer fresh opportunities for stability and a pathway to permanent housing, ultimately fostering a thriving community where all residents can enjoy an improved quality of life.

What we do
Food & Nutrition
We ensure that no one in South County goes hungry. Through our food pantry and nutrition programs, we provide fresh, healthy groceries to individuals and families facing food insecurity—offering both nourishment and dignity in times of need.
Unhoused Services
We meet people where they are. Our Compassion Services team builds trust with unhoused individuals, connecting them with essentials like hygiene supplies, warm meals, and client-centered case management support—opening the door to housing and stability.
Our New Place
More than two dozen previously unhoused local families have found their way home at Our New Place—a local permanent supportive housing program that helps these households reach their goals for stability and a life of promise
Homelessness Prevention
We believe the best way to address homelessness is to prevent it. Through emergency financial support, rental assistance, and tailored guidance, we help community members stay safely housed during periods of crisis.

The needs in South County are growing—and so is our impact. In the past year alone:
We distributed over 200,000 pounds of food to local families.
Our outreach team helped 325 Individuals Permanently Resolve their Homelessness.
We helped 275 households avoid homelessness by providing assistance to families facing imminent eviction..
These aren’t just numbers—they’re lives changed.
Every dollar donated and every hour volunteered helps us reach farther and serve better. With your help, we’re not just responding to crisis—we’re building long-term resilience for South County.
The South County Community Services, and the wonderful individuals they employ at their Unhoused Compassion Division, are changing lives! I’d like to give a big “Thank You” to two case managers specifically—Ana Fernandez and Dynasty Lopez. These ladies are top notch! So loving, caring and professional!
